must complete the following online application.
Researchers from UCLA or other agencies or universities who wish to conduct research at UCLA Lab School must complete the following online application. This includes doctoral theses, faculty research, and pilot studies. Applications by students and off-campus researchers must be cosigned by a UCLA faculty sponsor, who assumes responsibility for the conduct of the study. If you are applying to conduct a non-publishable course project, or an evaluation study, you do not need to apply using this application. Please contact Sandra Smith, Assistant Director of CONNECT at firstname.lastname@example.org, to determine if your project is not classified as research. Following submission of your application, you will be notified of the Review Committee’s decision within approximately 14 days. If your application is approved, you still must obtain approval, or an exemption, from the General Campus Institutional Review Board (GC-IRB), at UCLA’s Office for the Protection of Research Subjects. Data collection may begin only after a copy of the IRB statement of approval or exemption is received by CONNECT. You can submit IRB information on this website, in the FILES section.
